Acupuncture for Mental Health Professionals is a 210-hour professional acupuncture training programme designed primarily for psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists and healthcare professionals with a strong professional interest in mental health.
The programme provides a structured education in acupuncture while placing particular emphasis on Balance Method Acupuncture and on the responsible use of acupuncture as a complementary clinical tool in mental and emotional health.
The course combines the foundations of Chinese Medicine with contemporary biomedical knowledge, scientific evidence, clinical reasoning and practical application.

Balance Method and Mental Health
A central part of the programme is specialised training in Balance Method Acupuncture, together with the study of acupuncture as a supportive approach in mental and emotional health within each participant’s professional scope.
The programme is intended to provide an additional professional clinical tool. It does not replace psychiatric, psychological or other necessary medical treatment.
Prerequisites
Applicants should have a recognised educational and professional background in healthcare or mental health. The programme is designed primarily for psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists and other healthcare professionals. Applications from candidates with a different professional background are reviewed individually.
Course Length
The programme spans 210 hours over 7-8 months.
Teaching is delivered live online, primarily over weekends, with practical skills and clinical reasoning integrated throughout the programme.
The programme concludes with intensive supervised clinical practice in Athens, Greece.
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, participants will have developed a structured understanding of acupuncture theory, safety, point location, treatment planning and practical application.
Graduates will also receive specialised training in Balance Method Acupuncture and in the supportive application of acupuncture in mental and emotional health.
The programme aims to enable healthcare and mental health professionals to integrate acupuncture responsibly within their existing professional scope while maintaining appropriate medical assessment, referral and multidisciplinary care when required.
